A Name Rooted in Heritage

山城 (Shan Cheng), is the Chinese (Mandarin) equivalent for ‘City of Mountains’, a moniker given to the city of Ipoh in Malaysia by its residences as its landscape is depicted by sprawling hills and mountains.

From a Mother 30 Years Legacy

Founded by Ipoh-born sisters Elaine and Cheryl Tioh, Shan Cheng is more than just a restaurant – it’s a return to its roots. Raised in the bustle of their mother’s humble noodle stall, the sisters grew up immersed in the aromas and flavours of authentic Ipoh cuisines.

The sisters moved to Singapore for work in 2000 and soon found themselves longing for their mother’s cooking. To satisfy their cravings and share the beloved flavours of home, they opened their first outlet at The Central, Clark Quay in 2011.
